Learn basic music reading skills, fingering, and introductory piano technique. It is designed to make a student familiar with the keyboard. There is a piano lab with fifteen keyboards.
4th Grade +
An introductory class for students grade 4 and up to learn basic music reading skills, fingering, and introductory piano technique. It is designed to make a student familiar with the keyboard. There is a piano lab with fifteen keyboards. Adults are welcomed to take these classes.
Guitar Lab has classes that introduces tuning, chording, and music reading to younger children, and classes that provide individualized programs of study for the intermediate and more advanced student. Adults are welcome to take these classes. Consult with Instructor for placement. Guitar and tuner required.
Beginning Snare introduces percussion playing and music reading to kindergarten and up
Beginner Drum Set is offered to students who have at least an Intermediate foundation in percussion techniques (grades 3 and up). Students are expected to have a knowledge of the snare drum and be able to read music. Students will learn techniques of drum set playing, learn a variety of drum set patterns, and learn to read both drum set music and more complicated snare music.
Intermediate/Advanced Drum Set students will continue learning and expanding their knowledge of the drum set. These students will have taken at least 2 years of drum set with The Salvation Army or the equivalent, or be placed by the instructor.
