Major Todd Hawks Metro Atlanta Area Commander said “By this weekend you will see hundreds of our red kettles in various locations throughout Atlanta, our goal this year will be to raise 2 million dollars. Funds donated to the kettle allow us to support programs that provide meals, and shelter to those that are in need. Major Hawks added, last year we were able to provide over 157,000 people with a meal and 103,000 people with shelter, with recovery still slow we anticipate that those in need will still need a hand up”
Over 300 attendees for the lunch donated generously to attend the luncheon. John Smoltz will host a book signing after the luncheon and place the first donation into the Red Kettle.
