ALICE FODEN played cornet in High School Marching and Concert band, as well as several brass instruments in The Salvation Army Charleston Corps Band. She played alto horn in Carolina divisional Youth Band and taught timbrels, Jr. band and songsters as a young adult.  She attended The Salvation Army Schools for Officers Training and served in several leadership positions since.  She was the Children’s Music/Creative Movement, Drama and Praise Team Director for 10 years at Gracepointe Nazarene Church. She has created and executed presentations using PowerPoint, Media Shout, and various other Sound and AV equipment. She was active in the public school education of her children with fundraisers and as PTA President until she began to home-school her children. She has been involved in Leadership of two different home-school groups as coordinator and teacher. She has been associated with The Conservatory for several years. She has taught drama, vocal, and dance. She was The Vice-Principal for Community Relations and is now the Principal.

Vice Principal

C ROBERT (BOB) CONNER and his wife Julie have been members of The Salvation Army Lawrenceville Corps (church) since 1985. He has been a member of The Salvation Army since 1966. He is the Retired Corps Sergeant-Major at the Corps. He is the Vice- Principal for Information Technology for The Salvation Army Gwinnett Conservatory for the Performing Arts. He has an Associate Degree in Information Technology – Microcomputer Specialist and is a Microsoft Office Suite Specialist – Access. He has handled the record keeping for the Conservatory since 2003.


SAM FODEN has been singing and performing in church and public events since the age of four. Sam played cornet in middle and high school. He sang in chorus in junior year, singing in the Birmingham, Alabama All-City High School Choir Christmas Concert. A Liberal Arts major at McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana, he studied music composition, and vocal technique as part of electives. From 1975 through 1989, he participated in several youth musicals and Salvation Army musical productions. Sam entered The Salvation Army School for Officers’ Training in the fall of 1982, playing in the concert band, and songsters. He was brigade (ministry team) pianist for both years, and played keys for the school contemporary group, “New Song,” at the 1984 ALM Divisional Youth Councils. In 1992, Sam and his family moved to the Atlanta area, where he has since been actively involved in Celebration Choir and band for Gracepointe Nazarene Church. He currently sings tenor and bass on the praise team, and plays keyboard (pads) in the praise team band.

LAUREL WILBANKS is a homeschooling mom who loves children and music. She began taking piano lessons when she was five years old using the Yahama piano method which concentrates on ear training. She continued her studies through high school playing in her church and in recitals. She also played the flute, oboe, and played one season as a percussionist in her high school marching band. Laurel has taught children’s choir for over 15 years. She has also taught recorder, and is very involved with her church choir. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech and loves to impart the love of music in everything she is involved in.
