ABOUT US

While The Salvation Army’s 6th annual Kettle Krush 5K run/walk is in a “different season” than Christmas, the purpose is for the “same reason.” Through this event, the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary is able to help The Salvation Army raise awareness for and to “krush” poverty, homelessness, and sex trafficking in our area, and support veterans and youth enrichment.

RACE DETAILS

What is better than beautiful springtime in Atlanta? Enjoying a fun 5K race/walk on a certified course that winds through the City of Atlanta’s scenic Piedmont Park on roads without vehicle traffic! Runners and walkers will start and finish in the same location.

Running strollers are welcome, but we do ask that you start toward the back of the race. No dogs please.

Race Date: May 16, 2020

Location: Start and finish: Piedmont Park (400 Park Dr., Atlanta, Georgia)

Race Start Time: 8 a.m.

Packet Pick-up

May 14, 12-4 p.m. Big Peach Running Company, 800 Peachtree St., Suites B&C, Atlanta (Midtown between 5th and 6th streets)

May 15, 4-8 p.m. Big Peach Running Co., 1062 Johnson Ferry Rd., Suite C, Marietta

Race day – Piedmont Park (from 7 -7:45 a.m.)

Parking/Transportation

Piedmont Park is surrounded by Piedmont Avenue, Monroe Drive and 10th Street. Visitors to the park can enter on foot through the Charles Allen Gate off 10th Street or from the parking garage shared by Piedmont Park and the Atlanta Botanical Garden. Address to the parking garage: 1320 Monroe Drive, Atlanta, GA 30306. Visitors can also access the parking garage from Piedmont Avenue at the Atlanta Botanical Garden entrance.

The park is accessed from the lowest floor.

Off street parking is also available or visitors can access the park by nearby MARTA.

Note: The park is large. Please allow ample time to park and walk to race start.

Awards

Awards for first overall M/F and Masters M/F runners and top three M/F runners in 16 age brackets from 10 & under to 80 & over.

Team prizes

Prizes will be awarded to the team with the most registered participants and the fastest team (first 5 finishers timed). Each team should include 2 females; no limit to number of team members. To create a team, visit https://itsyourrace.com and type in Kettle Krush 5K. The team creator must register first and add team name. Then simply share team name with other prospective team members and all can enter and pay for their own race registration.

Post-race festivities

Stay after the race to celebrate your finish with fellow runners/walkers and enjoy the awards ceremony at 9 a.m. Post-race goodies and music will be provided.

5K phantom runner – $35 (with race shirt)

$45 – race day

All race fees are non-refundable.

Can’t make it to the event on race day or would like to support the event without leaving your home or having to sweat for your race shirt? You can still register online at http://kettlekrush5k.itsyourrace.com/ through 5/13 at 11:59 p.m. Cost is $35 (with shirt).

VOLUNTEER

We can use your help! The time requirement is minimal on race day and all volunteers will receive a 2020 Kettle Krush short-sleeve T-shirt. Volunteers can also enjoy the post-race food and festivities. Individuals or groups of volunteers are welcome!
